President Goodluck
Jonathan has asked the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to give
relief materials to families of both fallen soldiers and those that are away on
duty at the war front.
The Nigerian President gave the directive on Saturday, saying it was to
appreciate the efforts of the troops that have reclaimed some communities from
the members of the Boko Haram sect.
While distributing the items to military commands
in Yola and Maiduguri, the director of Search and Rescue at NEMA, Air Commodore
Charles Otegbade, said that the materials were given out to appreciate the
gallantry of the Nigerian military in the war against insurgency.
Air Commodore Otegbade represented the Director
General of the NEMA.
He said that the food materials distributed to
the military commands should serve as a morale booster for the military, as
they intensify the fight against the insurgents.
